The logical start to our Integrative Consulting approach is conducting a thorough analytical Technology Assessment.  This Assessment can be at any level within an organization, from the individual project team, to an organization or the entire company based on our customer’s / partner’s needs. The Technology Assessment consists of a set of interviews with business and technology personnel and a review of process and technology documentation. The focus is on understanding all aspects of People, Process, and Technology within the scope of the assessment and their relationship to each other. This is critical to creating a complete picture of the current situation, supporting an organization’s  strategic objectives and developing a set of specific recommendations to any identified gaps.  

There are several reasons for this approach: 

  • Allows us to establish an existing baseline that defines the current state of an organization’s utilization of Technology
  • Evaluates the alignment of Technology initiatives with Business goals
  • Creates a Technology Strategy Roadmap that becomes the cornerstone for ensuring that the technology not only supports but also drives the business effectively.

Solutions Delivery

When defining requirements and then  developing and implementing a new software solution, there can be a significant impact on an internal technology team’s resource allocation and  their ability to continue to deliver existing mission critical projects. KnexGEN’s Solution Delivery offering brings a cohesive team together to create  end to end requirements, develop/integrate a solution, and deploy this solution as a new technology initiative. The key focus is accomplishing this initiative in a manner that does not impact current organizational operations.

By utilizing our Integrative Consulting approach and leveraging proven best practices and methodologies, we  take a technology initiative from start to finish – delivering a quality solution in a cost effective and timely manner.

Technology Leadership Support

Technology Leaders are now considered critical to a business’s success.  The ability to lead a company in the use of technology as a business driver requires a strategic vision and understanding of key business components and current technology.  As part of our Integrative Consulting suite of offerings we can provide an organization with objective Technology Leadership to facilitate this area of an organization’s business.  KnexGEN approaches this from two different perspectives:

  • For organizations that have a formal technology management structure in place, KnexGEN provides a strategic “outside looking in” technology vantage point.  In this capacity, we make recommendations that focus on positioning technology as a key business driver for organizational growth and ensuring the existing technology team is prepared to support these recommendations.  By bringing our broad-based industry knowledge and best practices of other successful organizations, we will work with your existing technology leadership team to evaluate and implement a strategy that will ensure the continuing value of your technology initiatives.
  • For small to mid-sized organizations, KnexGEN can take this approach one step further in an interim and / or part-time CIO type of role.  In this scenario, many organizations are not ready to staff a full-time CIO position, yet realize the value that role would play in helping them achieve their business goals. In this instance, KnexGEN will come in with a CIO level perspective to create a technology agenda and strategic plan that complements your overall business strategy.  We will work closely with your existing Business Leadership team and technology group to develop these plans and ensure their successful execution. Once this is established, we would then be available, on an as needed basis, to address any C level Technology issues that arise and /or participate as part of an Executive Committee, or other advisory roles on a periodic basis.

Program / Project Management

Program and Project Management continues to be a major challenge across all industries, yet is a critical component to ensuring a successful project deployment. KnexGEN brings an in-depth understanding of the program and project management discipline. We  focus on the planning, monitoring and control of all aspects of the project and the motivation of all those involved in order  to achieve the project objectives on time and to the specified cost, quality and performance.

The discipline of project management is about providing the tools and techniques that enable the project team (not just the project manager) to organize their work to meet the constraints of Scope, Time, and Cost.

A successful Project Manager will leverage a team’s skills, experiences and broad based business knowledge to ensure that any technology project is effectively meeting the needs of the business.  This can be from engaging the business users impacted in the project to managing training for technology and business users on a new application. 

A key element in our approach is focusing on the information exchange between multiple parties/organizations/systems and ensuring an understanding of those dependencies and managing them.  This holistic view of the project and the parties involved helps ensure the overall success of the engagement while ensuring the individual components are successful as well.

KnexGEN can come in and integrate into a customer’s / partner’s existing project management structure, or can develop a new project management structure.  In both cases, KnexGEN utilizes the methodologies as described above.
